The Fall season has begun and so has the allergies that come with it. Along with falling leaves and ragweed, the pollen produced cause allergy sufferers a bit of discomfort. If you suffer with spring allergies, like many do, most likely fall isn’t exactly a fun time for you either.
Allergies? Cleaning your living space
Did you know that getting your space clean from the the summer build up could make your allergy reaction worse? Though its always a great idea, in my opinion to do some Fall cleaning, you could pay a price. Here are a few ways from WebMD that you can get your house clean and keep your allergies in check:
- Vacuum once or twice a week and make sure your vacuum has a HEPA filter. Some allergens are so small that they pass right through a regular vacuum filter. That means that every time you vacuum, you could be sucking them off the floor and shooting them into the air, where you breathe them in.
- Declutter. Those boxes piled high or clothing that you really need to get rid of can trap dust and hide allergens like dust mites and cockroaches.
- Wear a mask when you clean. And when you’re done with your housework, leave the house for a few hours. It will limit your exposure to allergens you kicked up into the air.
