Earth Day is just two days away. It began in 1970, when 22 million Americans celebrated clean air, land and water. The goal back then, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), was to force the environment as a national issue. All of this started before there were laws limiting pollution, no Clean Air Act, no Clean Water Act and no EPA. Now, most people are well-versed in Earth Day and have ideas about going green.
Century Products is also trying to reduce our impact on the environment. We promote reusable cleaning supplies that can be rinsed or cleaned in order to be used multiple times. We try to source products made of reclaimed materials. The majority of our paper products are made from recycled materials. In fact, every parent roll that is produced in our North Carolina paper mill is made from 100% recycled paper fiber. Not a single tree is harvested to supply our mill. This recycled fiber contains approximately 60% post-consumer content, diverting thousands of tons of waste paper from the landfill each year. You can read more about our environmental commitment and our recycled paper program.
It doesn’t take a lot to make a big impact. You don’t even need to do it all at once. Switching out one tool as needed or changing to recycled paper products are a great starting point for going a little greener. Take a small step this Earth Day to change your impact on the environment.
